Hi, Folks --
A question for you regarding accordion bellows. Most places I've checked say the bellows is usually made of cardboard. Sometimes it's cardboard with some plastic or fabric coating, but cardboard nevertheless.

Do any of you know of accordions made with a stiff fabric, or of leather as in some concertinas, or of other materials?

Thanks very much.

A quality so (called cardboard) has been used in accordion bellows construction for some 100 years now. The quality depends on the fabric glued on it. And the quality of the metal bellows & goatskin corners.
Even the new models & digitals have bellows of this construction.
" If it works, don't try to fix it !!"

Thank you! Interesting to know. May I quote you as a source in my blog?

Of course !
My statement is common knowledge.
