Hi
I have recently retired from work at 65 years and looking to take up the accordion as a hobby.
I particularly like the Cajun style and looking to understand what to look for in purchasing accordion.
I understand I should be looking to purchase a melodeon diatonic box.
I am located in Scotland and the choice is very limited.
I have located a used Horner for sale with 2 stops, it is not advertised as a Cajun box. I notice most Cajun boxes have 4 stops Can someone advise me what makes the Cajun box different from standard melodeon boxes and would the box I described be suitable for be at entry level for Cajun music style.

Any advise is very much appreciated.

+1 for Anyanka's suggestion.
Search Hohner Cajun for more
and
The number of stops = how many sets of reeds.
Starting out you may find it enough to have a choice of one reed sounding or 2 together, another 2 stops will likely give a low and/or a high set of reeds to choose from.

Thank you very much for your prompt responses. Much appreciated.

Ian
