Good Evening All,
Any one good with playing by ear that could help me with a base melody? I am currently learning to play the blue skirt waltz, and I really enjoy the base melody Myron Floren plays in this video. It’s sound like he plays it in the Eb and into the counter base row. I get a few of the notes but get stuck. Your help is greatly appreciated and here is the video link from the Lawerance Welk Show. Thanks in advance

Justin - Do you want someone to write it out for you? That would take a little while. I can give you a few pointers right now:
1. The first section is in Bb major, the second (sung) section is in Eb major, and the BASS solo is the third (trio) section.
2. The trio is in the key of C minor (relative minor of Eb major). What might have thrown you off is that the first note of the solo is Eb. The first two notes of the solo (Eb and D) are only leading tones to the root, or tonic (C).
Good night and good luck!(y)

You want to know something like...
Es D C G Fis G Es C C Es D C D Es G Fis G As G D C Bes F E F D Bes F E F G F G A Bes ... A As G...
Those are the base notes starting from 1:40.
You can hear the rhythm yourself in the video.

Thank you Zevy and debra!
just the info I was looking for, I have the melody in my head and I’ll sit down tonight after work and sound it out on my accordion. Thanks again guys
