Sorry to be nuisance and question is placed merely out of inquisitiveness
What would be the difference in prices for the complete reeds on a 120 LMM box be roughly for say
Dural, Tipo a Mano, and Mano
Or roughly the step up in price between eaxh grade
Many thanks

Thanks Corinto.... Jim has gicen the answer i needed to know... Not so muxh the price but the difference betwen them..
So a mano reeds are roughly double the price of a standard dural and tipo a mano sit a tad on the heavy side in between...
Was merely a passing interest as some manufacturers offer same boxes with different reed choices....

T reed plates are machine reeds, nothing special. (I would say overpriced, but if you need them you will pay the price...) What sets these reeds apart from other reeds is there shape. The center part of the reed plate is "straight" (rectangular) causing the trapezoidal reeds to sit at an angle. I don't believe it has any significant impact on the sound these reeds produce.
In Italy (at Carini for instance) buying single reeds results in prices that vary on which note you order, but roughly I would say that a machine (durall) reed plate is 2 to 3 euro, tipo a mano 4 to 6 euro and a mano 6 to 8 euro. (larger reeds for very low notes found on CBA instruments and large bass reeds cost a bit more). So you can see that Hohner reeds are a bit on the expensive side (for no other reason than being named Hohner I guess).
