Hi Dear All.

I've downloaded exp snd file (.bin extension), loaded it on USB drive (I tried few different ones, same result) and when I'm trying to load expansion sounds, I'm getting error like fmt err or something.
Did you see anything like that? This is new FR-4x, so, I cannot suspect that something wrong with it, build 56.
Any ideas, cures, much appreciated!

Regards
Dmitry

Is the USB drive formatted FAT32?
Is the BIN file that you are trying to install DIRECTLY from the FR-4x portion of the Roland website?

I would reformat it... make 100% sure it was FAT 32 and try downloading a fresh copy again... being very careful to follow the install instructions again. If that did not work, try another (smaller perhaps) USB key?

I personally have not had one issue using tons of different keys in my 8X, but for some reason, some do. Are you formatting it in a Windows PC computer or an Apple/Linux/Unix computer? They write the FAT32 system differently, bypassing the 32gb restriction and that too (I believe), won't be usable on an 8X.

This is a good suggestion! I formatted using Mac, but let me find smaller USB stick and reformat in Windows.. will report if that worked or not

And it worked! I used Windows 10 PC, formatted 8GB USB stick using FAT32 (Quick Format Option), Uploaded files and waited for like 30s to make sure it all flushes before ejecting it. Thank you Jerry and Alan!
